Trip to the Art Store [24 Nov 2009|10:20am]
I went to an art supply store I have never been to in Beijing. I was very amazed in how it made me feel. I do not think I have had the kid in a candy store feeling for quite a while. The reason being is that this candy store has all the right candy at all the right prices.

The one thing I found myself getting really excited over for some reason was the metal animation pegbar that is only 8 RMB $1.17 USD. It tapped some kind of young wonderment that might have been lost it was exciting and it only cost $1.17. I did not get it at the time even though the excitement was overflowing. I was there to get non-photo blue pencils, ink pens and grease pencils.

I will be back for you shinny metal peg bar and I will buy the large pack of pre-punched paper next to you that will cost me a whole 5RMB. Then we will have to make something great together. My shinny little peg bar.

Writing? [22 Aug 2009|10:24pm]
Wanted to do something creative like drawing but wound up writing a flash fiction piece instead. It will be the first thing that I have taken to the Beijing writers group or any writers group for that matter. Think I am going to make an illustration based on the piece too so looking like some drawing will come out of this. I really do find that creating something always does brighten up my mood.

Have not posted in a while [26 Jun 2009|08:38pm]
My Live Journal say that I have not posted for 25 weeks. I have not posted here forever it is good to see that people still post here.

It has been sweltering the past few days in Beijing. It has been exhausting just walking back and forth to work. Looking forward to the Pacific North West it should be a good break until I get thrown back into the frying pan. Not looking forward to the flight but it might afford me some time to catch up on some movies.

I realized today, camera techs do not get invited to wrap parties.

Tech is not the end. [11 Dec 2008|08:38am]
[ mood | contemplative ]

My brain is full of tech goodness. I know more now about electronics, lenses, building cables and monitors than I ever thought I would use in my life, happy to be learning. Starting Monday I will be learning things that people would sell there souls to learn but I am being paid to learn it. I think that all this tech stuff is a build up to something even greater that will come in the product of a film or some kind of art...

Travel Blank [25 Nov 2008|07:24pm]
I went to Xian Jiang in North Easter China and my brain has been scrambled for the past week and a half. Found myself staring off into space a lot. Finally coming out of it and slowly putting together what I saw. Will have to go back and look at some pictures.

On Thursday I will be going to Toronto to stuff my brain full of every technical piece of data about digital cinema then go to L.A. to stuff it even more. Luckily I have processed most of my previous trip and here I go again.

[08 Aug 2008|10:33pm]
Just for anyone who does not know. I am leaving for Beijing on the 20th of August. Secured a position as a camera assistant for a digital film company with some impressive credits. This is a big change for me. As of the 11th of August I will be free of my grey cubical prison and the voices of people trying to get there data devices working. Currently I am sleeping on the floor of a friends place until the 20th. Just submited my visa today and it will be back to me on the 13th. Very excited that everything has come together so well.
